About AMBI
An Elite Massage Education
Americans are becoming more health-conscious and that means massage therapy is increasingly included in whole-person wellness plans. American Massage & Bodywork Institute was founded to address a growing, nationwide concern: how do we meet the needs of the public at large?
The solution is this: invite and train qualified individuals to enter the profession as massage therapists.
AMBI’s programs guide individuals towards a meaningful career in massage therapy and are designed for those who seek to help others through the power of meaningful touch. Even if you already have a career in allied health, there are many professionals adding massage therapy to their skill set because clients are wanting complementary health options and choices.
AMBI is committed to being a change leader through training new therapists, providing continuing education to existing therapists, and working with the public to increase awareness of the benefits of massage therapy. Everyone at AMBI is dedicated in their desire to provide both a meaningful introduction to massage therapy and also assistance for our graduates to find meaningful employment.

An Accredited Institution
AMBI has been granted Institutional Accreditation by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). COMTA is the only agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education as a specialized accrediting agency for massage therapy, and we are 1 of 2 schools accredited by COMTA in Virginia! In addition, COMTA endorsed our curriculum, recognizing our program as one of the best in the country!
Why Accreditation is Important
When you attend an accredited institution, you are attending a school that has undergone a rigorous process that evaluates educational quality. It’s not easy to become or remain an accredited institution. The rules and regulations are strict, precise and designed to protect students. Here are some of the benefits:
- A reliable indicator of quality
- Approved program of study
- Qualified instructors
- Recognition by employers nationwide
